Hello,

Is anyone applying to schools like ESADE, LBS, Cranfield, Oxford, Manchester etc?
What advantages (or disadvantages) do European schools have when compared to their US counterparts?
I remember reading the blog of Hari K, who was a moderator in BTG; He preferred an European school for the diversity it offers. What do you think?

hello, yes I was wondering more about the advantages/disadvantages between the different programs (US & Non US to be specific)

I would consider attending an European MBA because:

(1) Length of program: Almost all European MBAs are 12-month program (LBS is an exception as its MBA program is 2 years long), allowing candidates to get back into the job market earlier than those attending 2-year non-European program.

(2) Cost: European MBA costs less compared to the US MBA program. While this is not true when compared to an Asian MBA.

(3) Most top European MBA offers a truly international class representing several countries.

(4) More likely to get an opportunity to learn foreign language.

(5) 1-year European MBA does not mean that its curriculum is more difficult.It just means- Work hard and play hard!!!

I would not consider European MBA because of:

(1) Lack of summer internships.(2) Less time for networking.(3) Possibly less time for career-switch or career-transition.
