hi,
I had a question concerning what can be done to mitigate low GPA. I know some schools recommend certain courses prior to the start of the programme or offer some weeks of prep course before the start of the programme. Does LBS offer anything like that? Thanks!

Applicants typically build an additional transcript by taking courses at local institutions to offset a low GPA and a high GMAT could mitigate a low GPA although it depends on the following factors:
1) GPA trend
2) Relative rigour of your coursework
3) Evidence at work that can offset a poor GPA - e.g: extensive work involving financial modelling with relatively poor grades in Economics/Finance - this is plausible but very rare
4) Extenuating circumstances

As for preparatory courses, LBS has standard pre-term courses in Statistics that precedes the main term which pretty much addresses all the math you'll require for the core curriculum.

Which schools are you looking at? You will need to improve your GMAT while your work experience is at the higher end of the typical MBA class. Have you thought over why an MBA and why now?

Also, being a part of an NGO is very nebulous - you have to show substantial accomplishment both at work and outside of work activities.
