The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 16 + 16squareroot2. What is the length of the hypotenuse?

The hypotenuse length will be 16

The isoceles triangle will ahve two sides equal. and the thirs hyp .

whats the OA??

See attached as this is easier to show both with a diagram and with correct mathematical notation.

Answer = 16.

thanks for the solution attachment. However, you lost me when you factored out 16 from the numerator. when you factor out 16 from "16 square root 2," only "square root 2" should remain, but you have a "2 sqare root 2" still.

typo? or am i not getting something. :) <== which happens all the time!

There is a typo in the above doc... i also figured it out yesterday.

Just a typo. I have replaced the file with an updated one. Yes, when you factor 16 out of (16*sqrt2 + 32) you get 16(sqrt2 + 2) which is what you need to cancel out the denominator.
