Strategy consulting and planning is the life-line of any organisation and pervades through the mission, objectives , goals and functioning of a company.
Naturally, a company requires smart minds to be able to grasp the bird’s eye view of the direction that the company is taking and be able to advise on the future path. Many companies traditionally rely on experienced and wise old timers of the company to do this path guidance. However, for smaller and newer companies, the throne remains for those to claim who can wisely advise and steer the company through tricky environmental and cooperate issues. All this and much more is the preserve of management or strategic consulting. So why is this an adrenaline inducing role for most MBAs , especially from top B- Schools? What is the fuss all about?Strategy Consulting

Yes, that is incredibly true. Tarun Mehrotra and Pranav Mehrotra made it to INSEAD MBA– France and Singapore respectively. Whoa!
Yes, at GyanOne, we believe in strong collaboration. But this – it was a result of both collaboration and thorough determination from both the brothers to make it through. Tarun and Pranav, both BITS Pilani engineers, have an unbelievable story to share. They came to GyanOne through our client, Balaji, who is a merchant Navy professional, now an INSEAD Executive MBA alumni. In fact, our client Divya Mahankali, who made it to both McCombs and ISB, but finally chose to go to ISB, has been a common friend. It’s a small world you see!!MBA Success Stories

MBA in Canada With Family

MBA in Canada with Family
Canada follows US and UK as a popular destination for students who want to pursue higher education. Unlike the US, which has always occupied the no.1 spot, Canada has seen new heights in popularity in the last decade or so. This could be attributed to universities competing globally, student friendly cities, and a healthy, organized lifestyle on offer. Further, considering that many students are rethinking their plans of moving to the US because of immigration laws (though they shouldn’t), MBA in Canada with family looks more attractive than ever. Canada as a nation has always been friendly, welcoming immigrants with open arms, and in fact, is one of the few developed nations where seeking and obtaining a PR (Permanent Residency) is still a good possibility.. The graduate management admission test is the entrance test that is generally taken if you want to apply for an MBA in any of the business schools. A good score on the test will ensure that you get admission into the university or college of your choice. Constantly changing GMAT Patterns ensure MBA applicants are evaluated on the right skills and knowledge.

While GMAT and fun may not always be used in the same sentence, studying for the exam with a plan will ultimately yield excellent results. Focusing on the four sections and going through various preparatory tests will work to build your confidence in taking the final test..Impact of Changing GMAT Pattern

Does an MBA Help Entrepreneurs?

by GyanOne » Thu Jul 29, 2021 8:04 pm
Image

While there are several definitions for the word “Entrepreneurship”, the one we like to use the most has been given by Professor Howard Stevenson from the Harvard Business School. He says entrepreneurship is the pursuit of opportunity beyond resources controlled. So, what this basically means is that all entrepreneurs must deal with limited resources such as time, money, human capital and so on. The Great Man theory and the Trait Theory of Leadership say that true leaders or entrepreneurs are born and not made. For instance, Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and Mao Tse Tung had inbuilt leadership skills i.e. they were born leaders. However, in contrast, we have the Behavioral theories which suggest that people can learn to become great leaders by observing, experiencing and learning..MBA in Entrepreneurship

What is the McCombs MBA admissions committee looking for in the interview?
Deliver a genuine, prepared, and poised interview performance. Thats what the Texas McCombs MBA Admissions Committee advises the candidates appearing for their McCombs MBA interviews. There are four different interview types: on-campus with a student, via Skype with a student, off-campus in your local city with an alumni interviewer, or at a HUB city location with an admissions officer. Interviews typically last anywhere from 30 minutes to 40 minutes. Interviewers do not have access to anything about you or your application, except for your resume, so the interview is blind. Most interviewers check applicants for their confidence, clear and concise communication of career goals, concrete examples of teamwork and leadership, in-depth knowledge of our MBA program, and overall genuine enthusiasm.. Considering a second MBA from ISB?
Every year, Indian School of Business (ISB) gets applications from thousands of applicants, a small but not insignificant portion of which comprises applicants who are seeking a second MBA from ISB. The reasons behind this choice could be many – career stagnation, insufficient learning from a first MBA, an industry or function change, or simply a desire to put one’s career on the fast track through a ‘premium’ MBA. All of these reasons (and more) are valid, and in this article we explore the viability of pursuing the second MBA from ISB. We also discuss some advantages and even disadvantages of pursuing that path.. second mba from isb

One Year vs Two Year MBA

by GyanOne » Wed Aug 04, 2021 9:38 pm

It is an old argument. The one year MBA can be completed faster; the two year option is more comprehensive; the two year option is the ‘original MBA’; the one year option is part of a ‘rising trend’. We hear these arguments and many more like them every day. The one year MBA vs two year MBA debate is not new, but it rages on every year. Some applicants, without considering all the facts available to them, often decide to rule out programs of one type just because they do not understand all the facts around one year and two year MBA programs. This article is meant to help clarify some of the aspects on which one year MBA programs differ from two year programs..One Year vs Two Year MBA

Applying to top Asian schools? If you are, then CEIBS vs ISB is a question that would often have been a cause of contemplation for you. This article provides a number of points of comparison to help applicants and even admitted future students make a better choice. We do not make the choice for you, but provide you enough information to be able to make a better decision yourself. That is the way it should be too – there are multiple preferences that go into the decision and a ‘one size fits all’ approach won’t work.. ISB MBA Admission consultant

Is CFA Degree Valued During MBA Admissions ?

by GyanOne » Fri Aug 06, 2021 10:03 pm
Image

Few professional credential programs today have the prestige or the recognition that the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from CFA Institute, Virginia, does. Just about 15 years ago, the CFA was considered more of a Western phenomenon. Yet, today, Asian candidates dominate the candidates who take each level of the exam as well as those who clear it. Till about 2010, the CFA designation was considered relevant only for those who wanted a professional career in investments. Today, though, consultants, corporate finance managers, and even general managers are aspiring for this credential. As a result, many MBA applicants too have begun to wonder on the role o the CFA for MBA admissions. Is the CFA helpful for MBA candidates? Are there CFA exemptions for MBA applicants to top schools? This article hopes to address this and many other questions.. MBA Admission Consultants India
