I'm planning on applying to around 8 different schools for their full-time MBA program. My question is: do I need to have my recommenders write specific recommendations to each school that I apply to? Or can they write a general one and send it to each school? What's the best way to go about telling them what to do?
I'm not worried about what they will say, I just hate to have to tell them that they are going to have to write 8 different recommendations. Please let me know if y'all have any insight on this!
Thanks!
Info to give those writing my recommendation letters

8 is a lot of schools and it's a lot to ask your recommenders. I highly recommend simplifying it for them as much as possible. Since each school has its own questions, you should do the prework of organizing the questions for them and figuring out what they need to do for each. Unfortunately a general rec isn't going to work because each school has its own policy and expectations. You may also want to consider getting another recommender to relieve the burden.
Blogging about the MBA application process. Because I need to do something with all this bschool energy.
