Glaciers form when the snow, sleet, and hail that fall in a given climatic region exceed the amount capable of being lost through evaporation or melting.

(A) the snow, sleet, and hail that fall in a given climatic region exceed the amount capable of being

(B) a given climatic region's fallen snow, sleet, and hail exceeds the amount able to be

(C) the amount of snow, sleet, and hail that falls in a given climatic region exceeds the amount

(D) the snow, sleet, and hail falling in a given climatic region exceeds the amount able to be

Glaciers form when amount of things that fall exceeds the amount of things that lost.

Because of this disproportion,
because of this unevenness,
because of this misproportion,
because of this lopsidedness,
Glaciers form.

Two factors that need to be balanced should be compareable.

Now, with this background, try to solve it yourself before proceeding to the explaination below.

(A) the snow, sleet, and hail that fall in a given climatic region exceed the amount capable of being
Things exceeding numerical quantity.
Things should exceed other things.
Numerical quantity should exceed another numerical quantity.
Illogical comparison/parallelism, therefore, in A.

(B) a given climatic region's fallen snow, sleet, and hail exceeds the amount able to be
illogical comparison/parallelism ( as was the case in A )
SVA issue.
snow, sleet, and hail exceeds
(C) the amount of snow, sleet, and hail that falls in a given climatic region exceeds the amount
amount exceeds another amount.
logical.

(D) the snow, sleet, and hail falling in a given climatic region exceeds the amount able to be
illogical comparison/parallelism( as was the case in A and B)
SVA issue
the snow, sleet, and hail exceeds
(E) a given climatic region exceeds the amount of snow, sleet, and hail that falls and cannot be
illogical comparison/parallelism
