Importance of the AWA?

by RickH » Thu Aug 26, 2010 5:28 am
I had a discussion with a friend last night and we argued about the AWAs. I have never seen a field for an AWA score on an application and therefore have the theory that one could practically just skip them? Would that be accurate or not?

Not in the least, RickH. You skip the AWA at your own peril. AWA scores are reported to the schools you apply to. The schools would wonder why you scored zero or very close to it in the AWA section, while your essays look all shiny and impressive.

Don't skip it.
