\(x\) is between
A. 4 and 5
B. 5 and 6
C. 6 and 7
D. 7 and 8
E. 8 and 9
Answer: D
Using the Pythagorean theorem, we have:
x^2 + (√10)^2 = (2√15)^2
x^2 + 10 = 60
x^2 = 50
x = √50
Since 49 < 50 < 64, √49 < √50 < √64. That is, 7 < x < 8.
