Help needed to get started...

by hbMailingList » Mon Aug 31, 2009 7:25 am
Hello,

I'm trying to compare MBA & EMBA programs with a focus on general management & entrepreneurship.

The programs are the same...I'm trying to compare Berkeley, Wharton, Chicago, NYU Stern.

How do i go about comparing programs? What has worked for you?

Thanks in advance.

First of all - MBA is for people who want to go to school full-time while EMBA is evening MBA program for professionals who are generally sponsered by their firm to go to school while they are working OR people who want to continue working and go for an MBA i.e part-time. It takes longer to graduate if you go this path. For the programs, you need atleast 2-5 yrs of experience under your belt.

Then you have something called - Executive MBA - this is for people who have over 10 yrs of experience. I'm not sure what is it that you are particularly looking at, however, my suggestion would be that you look at what you want first. What is your priority and how do you want to go for it. Set your vision and goal and then attack the situation at hand. There is no 'one' thing that works for all. These programs are designed differently to cater to various needs.

Hope this helps.
