The Application Process

I'm currently finishing up my round 2 applications and I am stuck on how to properly explain my work experience. I work on political campaigns which is an industry that is underrepresented in the MBA community. In my field of work, everything is contract based and has an end date. As a result , I've had five different employers since graduation in 2010. More problematically, I am currently unemployed. This is intentional because my last campaign ended in the fall, and I needed time to work on GMATs and applications (90+ hour work weeks don't lend themselves to side projects), but I'm nervous that it will be a red flag for admissions officers because they aren't familiar with the job cycle for political campaigns.

Does anyone have advice on how I can properly explain this? I think I'm a strong candidate (I scored a 770 on the GMAT, worked for Obama and other high-profile politicians in management roles, and have a clear framework for how an MBA fits into my goals) and I want to make sure this doesn't trip me up.
