For some reason, this question isn't clicking for me. It must be super easy, but I'm just not seeing my error.

Is x^4 + y^4 > z^4?

(1) x^2 + y^2 > z^2

(2) x + y > z

I understand that (2) is insufficient because x and y could be negative numbers, but why isn't (1) sufficient?
