Got over with it: 97%ile 740 (Q:50 V:40)

Hey all
Wrote my GMAT yesterday (3rd August 2011). Scored 740 (Q:50 V:40).

I was so sure that I'll get 51 in Quant (I used to finish off Quant section of mock tests with 20-30 minutes remaining and would always score a 51) but the difficulty level of real GMAT test and OG/mock-test differ. It's a little difficult there.

Verbal is okay, quite same. The comprehensions were smaller.

It's more of an endurance test and less of knowledge test. Therefore tips for the exam:
1. Reach early (at least half hour), you don't want to rush through the formalities.
2. Do make use of the break time. Chill, use the washroom, drink water, eat chocolates (!!), air guitar or whatever. But do take the breaks.
3. Keep track of time. Lot of my friends scored low on GMAT because they couldn't manage time properly.
4. Don't be in a hurry to finish off the exam. Don't get anxious. It's just a 60+75+75 minute paper. (And you have given a lot of mock-tests before, you know it will get over)

These were feelings right after the exam. I wrote this entry yesterday itself, but couldn't post. (BEER over blog, any day!)
Preparation-part later. :)

Depends on your target schools ... if you are way above average AWA will count for squat ... if u r just in range then it becomes a difficult decision.
