Got 460 on Gmat Prep, need advice!

by student76 » Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:40 pm
Hello,

I'm new to GMAT, started considering taking it about 2 months ago. Haven't done much studying but planning to do so. I took my first GMAT Prep test today and my score is 460. Not sure if it's a good start or horrible, I would like to improve it to 650 by August. Planning to give it a try at the end of August. Obviously 460 is not a good score but that's where I need your help guys. I've read a lot of success stories on this forum and I'm totally impressed of how many people beat the GMAT with help of others. I'm not sure where to start, not good at Quant, well, in Verbal either, since English is not my native language, Verbal is very challenging for me. Material that I'm planning to use is MGMAT (have all of their books), OG 12 and this forum. Oh, and I also got Grockit for practice.
Any advice will be highly appreciated. Please let me know if anybody went from 460 to 650 in 2.5 months. I'm not trying to get into top school, so I need only 600-650. Thank you very much!

There are people who have improved from much lower score than yours.

Hope these two posts will give you a picture of how much you can achieve.

Reg the materials, MGMAT guides are good for verbal and sorry I don't about how good are their quants guides. Grockit online is awesome for group study as well as individual preparation and not to forget the OG12. You can read this

for better insight into how you can create a strategy for retake. Best Luck !!!!
