I think ||'sm is a decision maker here.

more about X... than about Y....

Only option D fits in.

Hello!

Thank you for your question. I think that richachampion is partly correct - this is an issue of using parallel structure (more about...than about...). There is also an issue with where the modifying phrase "as a trophy property" should go. So let's break down each answer, and figure out why D is the best one:

As a trophy property, the price offered for the Office building may say more about the continuing robust financial health of wealthy buyers than incremental changes in demand for Office space in New York.

A) As a trophy property, the price offered for the Office building may say more about the continuing robust financial health of wealthy buyers than
A is incorrect because it doesn't use parallel structure. It also puts the phrase "as a trophy property" next to "the price," suggesting the money offered is the trophy property, not the building.

B) The price offered for the Office building, a trophy property, may say more about continuing wealthy buyers' robust financial health than
B is a slightly better option than A because it moves the phrase "a trophy property" next to the building, which is good. However, it still doesn't use parallel structure, so it's not the right one.

C) As a trophy property, the Office building and the price offered may say more about the continuing robust financial health of wealthy buyers as it does
This sentence is confusing to readers. It wrongly says that both the building itself and the price offered for it say something - and only the price offered for the building does. It also doesn't use parallel structure like the other examples.

D) The price offered for the Office building, a trophy property, may say more about the continuing robust financial health of wealthy buyers than about
This one is correct because it uses parallel structure and places the phrase "a trophy property" directly after the building it's referring to. This sentence is clear and easy to follow.

E) The Office building is a trophy property, the price offered for it perhaps saying more about the robust financial health of wealthy buyers than
This sentence is wrong because it's a comma splice. There should be a period or semicolon after "property" instead of just a comma separating two complete sentences.

I hope this helps! I'm available if you'd like any follow up.

Why "b" is not parallel?

Tks!
