GMATprep: college admissions

by nhai2003 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 2:03 am
A college admissions officer predicts that 20 percent of the students who are accepted will not attend the college. According to this prediction, how many students should be accepted to achieve a planned enrollment of x students?

Hi guys,
I have a hard time to understand this question.
anyone has enough patient to help me rephrase the question stem?
(I think I am retarded!) :(

let y be the total number of students accepted

80% of y = x
y = x *100/80
y = 1.25 x

so college need to accept 1.25 times the number of seats available.
