Profile Evaluation

Hello,

I would like to get my profile evaluated.

Indian Male 25 Yrs

Education:
1. Undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Tier 1 (Non -IIT) Engineering college - 65.8%
2. Class XII - 88.4%
3. Class X - 90.2%
ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
CFA Level 1

GMAT: 730 (Q49, V41)

Work Experience:

Working in Deloitte as a Consultant since graduation in Security and Governance practice. Got an early promotion, currently one of the youngest professional at that new level within the team. Solid ratings in Deloitte.

Extra-Curriculum:

1. Founded an educational institute that caters to children from lower income families. Currently 60 students are enrolled and more than 8 faculty members are affiliated with the institute.
2. Teacher and mentor for Class X students at the institute.
3. Junior Achievement Volunteer in Deloitte for 3 years.
4. Founder and Editor in Chief of College yearbook.
5. Vice President of the college debating society.

Post MBA goal: To transition to Strategy Consulting in a Top 5 consulting house focusing on Technology/Energy and Resources industries.

I would like to understand what my target schools should be with this profile.

you come from an over represented group, so that will always be a challenge. That being said, your XCs may help you stand out from that highly competitive group. Make sure when you address your essays, you not only explain your XCs, but also what prompted you to open the school, and so forth.

With a well developed plan for Why MBA, Why Now, and the specific schools you are applying (make sure to research each individual school) then I would imagine you should include a mix of schools in your application, include 1-2 from the very top, and 1-2 outside of the top 10. And of course a couple in between. cheers, alex
