i think it should be (d).
the first integer can have a maximum value of median which is 25. Range is
also 25. So max value is 50.

OA is 43 - D, but i still didn't understand how it can be 43... i also thought it to be 50.

Can some answers in GMat Prep software also be expected to be wrong ?

Guys, dnt mind but how come D can be the best option to chose? Look Median is 25.
So 8th digit in the set is 25. Ok! Take it in this way -
L1 L2 L3 L4 L5 L6 L7 Median H7 H6 H5 H4 H3 H2 H1 - Where L1 is the smallest number and H1 is the highest number in the set.
Median is 25 and H1 - L1 = 25.
Now if you backtrack from Median to the left then
L7 = 24
L6 = 23
L5 = 22
L4 = 21
L3 = 20
L2 = 19
L1 = 18
So H1 = L1 + 25 = 43. So IMO D.
Now going back to your approach -
You people are missing one thing - In the question it is saying -
A set of 15 different integers. If so, then how come you can decide that the numbers lying left side of median are 25 each? Am I clear to explain my approach?
Correct me If I am wrong

Amitava

On the same question I overlooked the word 'different' and landed up choosing '50'.
