GMAT Exam: Timer Issue

by geetika11 » Mon Jul 25, 2016 8:33 am
Hi,

About 60 mins into my Quantitative section, when I pressed the "Next Question" button after answering a particular question, instead of going to the next question the Quantitative section was abruptly ended. My 7.5 minutes break period started before I could understand what had happened. I raised an alarm, but the test center executives didn't know what to make of it. They advised me to continue with the Verbal section and take it up with the GMAC later.
I got a vague reply from program coordinator after 6 business days and 2 weekends that timers were appropriate. I believe it will take them another 6 days to reply what 'Appropriate' means in numbers.
In the meanwhile, I want to know if the person giving the test get an option anywhere in the screen to end the section. Because my section definitely ended in 60 minutes. I want to understand if by mistake I clicked somewhere in the screen and my section ended in 60 minutes.

Thanks,
Geetika

Hi Abdul,

In the last reply from the Pearson, they have confirmed that my quantitative section finished 15 minutes in advance, but according to them I answered all 37 questions. I am sure that the last question I answered was Q 30 when my break started. But I have no proof. In case, I buy the assessment report, do you think it will include any details such as at what time last 7 questions were answered? As according to the investigation, I have answered all the questions, which is not true. How can I prove my point here?

Thanks,
Geetika

Hi Abdul,

How can I challenge investigation done by pearson, if I am not satisfied with the result? How can GMAC help me with it?

Hi Prata, I gave the exam at Nagpur, India. I recommend no one to give exam there. It is a small room with 2 computers. AC was literally on my face, I was able to reach to the button to switch on and switch off the AC by just raising my hand while sitting at my chair. I could hear sound of ringing phone all the time while giving the exam. And Pearson group has not come up with result of investigation regarding another incident number I raised to complaint about the condition of center. I am not sure though if all centers in India are like this or this one was special.

Hi Abdul, I have emailed it to them already. The reply I got from them is I attempted 37 questions in 60 minutes, which is absolutely incorrect. I attempted only 30 questions in those 60 minutes. How can I get the logs? They are not sharing any further information.

Hi Geetika,

Unfortunately, GMAC doesn't handle test center incidents directly as Pearson VUE is the point of contact for any issue regarding testing incidents. Please reach out to Pearson VUE directly. Once again, I do apologize for any inconvenience.
