Congratulations! This is so inspiring. I just set the date for my exam for the end of April and the pressure is getting to me. I downloaded the flashcards while reading your post and will start writing them out ASAP (since that helps me remember better). I want to go to Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in Chicago! I am beyond nervous about this exam :(

Hey many congratulations for your achievement and i am very much inspired from it..!!

Here is the thing, i started my preparation on 26th Jan, 2017, and i gave the diagnostic test and scored 310(dont remember the quant and verbal score) and i know i have to study very hard to be in 700 club.
after reviewing the solutions, i got to know that i have to focus mainly on quant and i can manage verbal with practice.

And i have both OG 2017 edition and Manhattan GMAT 6th edition and am doing from both of them.

I have some questions so i thought to ask you:

1. if i get a question wrong, shall i go and check the explanation and move to next question or give that question another try to get know where i got worng(but then i think, if have already got that question wrong, i should go and check, what's right...?

2. if i get a question right, shall i move to next question and follows the same or check for the explanation the book have to solve this question(it might be time taking)....?

Please suggest.

Thanks
Ankit

I think it's always better to attack a question from multiple angles, irrespective of whether you answer it correctly at first. If you solved something algebraically, ask yourself if you could have solved it more easily by picking numbers or back-solving (Or vice versa.) See if you can connect the question to others you've seen that might be similar. At the end of each study session, jot down the most important take-aways you've derived. Make sure to consult this summary sheet often so that you don't lose the forest for the trees. (And make sure to take regular practice tests to gauge your progress and make adjustments as needed.

Hi David,

Thanks for helping me out, what i can take out from your answer is to note down everything which can help me not to repeat the mistake again(whether i got the question right or not), its basically the approach we are talking about(correct me if i am wrong).

Also am planning to do 30 Questions everyday so that i can be consistent and may meet the deadline to finish the OG and other materials.

Please suggest.

Just make sure that in addition to doing the Official Guide questions, you have other resources that allow you to drill away in certain content areas. If, for example, you struggle with a rate problem in the OG, there may not be enough questions in that category to allow you to master it. So hit an alternative resource, whether it's a prep book or a question bank, to get additional practice. Once you feel you've honed this new skill, return to the Official Guide, making notes to yourself all the while about what is working and what isn't.
