either I'm just really tired or your questions are getting harder... I chose C for this one... didn't even pay much attention to B although it makes sense...

IS OA correct? As per B if I remove middleman then Many people are unwilling to believe the same of pit bulls. doesn't make any sense. Is C wrong because of the comparison?

to my understanding C makes it seem like pitt bulls are not like the other two... when in fact they are similar in some respect

Can't you compare apple with apple in 'Unlike' clause? I think you have to compare the same things in Unlike clause. Please correct me if I am wrong. May be I am not following you properly.

Is there are issue with Active and Passive voice ? Then of the two sentences in active voice B is the better option. Confused cos' in GMAT removal of the clause / phrase between commas should make some sense. In option B it does not.
But, then in GMAT sometimes Passive voice sentences are marked correct.

Yes that is what the issue is about. Anyway i guess it is time to post the OE since this question seems to have opened a debate of sorts.kstv wrote:Is there are issue with Active and Passive voice ? Here's the OE. Source is kaplan 800
The sentence sets up a comparison between Dobermans and German shepherds on one hand and pit bulls on the other. The beginnings of the choices give you a standard 3-2 split, so start with the choices beginning Unlike since there are three of them. (A) and (E) don't compare dogs to dogs so eliminate them. The remaining three choices create grammatically correct parallels, but (C) and (D) are wordier and less active than (B), so (B) is the best bet.
