Inference Questions- Reading Comp and Crit. Reasoning

I'm having trouble trying to figure out where and how to solve inference questions. A friend said to interrupt inference as "gossip" -something that was said/implied but may not be true. I'm lost and I have a month before my exam! Please help if anyone has any suggestions!!! :) Thank you.

Suggestions :
1: Never take any suggestion from your friend again. :).
