As a past customer of GMATFix, I got the email below yesterday about free live classes online
Hey Guys,

I sent you an email about 10 days ago giving you a heads up about GMATFix Live. This program allows anyone anywhere access to free GMAT classes. Sessions will be limited to only a few registrants and I suspect that demand will be much greater than supply, so I’ve decided (as promised) to restrict registrations to my current clients only until this Friday April 23 when it will be open to all.

To learn more about GMATFix Live, have a look at the Syllabus and FAQ, or to register, head over to www.GMATFix.com and click the “GMATFix Live” link in the main menu. If you don’t see it, clear your browser cache (delete your temporary internet files) then refresh the page.

Finally, now that GMATFix Live has launched, I will update the OG Companion to its 12th edition to match the new Official Guide. The OG Companion 12th should be available in June.

Thank you for your support, and stay disciplined in your studies!

According to this, registration opens to everyone today. I took a look at the classes. You can see the syllabus at www.gmatfix.com/live/live_faq.php There are 16 classes and several are already 25% full. I registered to attend the first class which begins on Monday. I figured it's free so I don't have much to lose.

REQUEST: If you attend a GMATFix Live class, please share your impressions here.

Thanks for the info. I hope these free classes will be helpful. For the monday class it looks like only half of the spots are left. Most

Thanks for the info LulaBrazilia. Unfortunately I was not able to register in time for yesterday's class (all seats were taken). Did you attend?

Would someone who attended the free GMATFix class please post his/her remarks?

Kobel51, BlueDragon2010, Tuscan21, you're all welcome!

Kobel51 I attended the class. It lasted about 2hrs and we focused on Subject-Verb agreement and Verb Tense errors. I found the class itself very useful. the basic structure was:

1)Introduction
2)Establish the grammatical rules for S-V agreement
3)Do several questions from OG12 (from easier to harder examples, timed)
4)Discuss Solutions and traps
5)Break
6)Repeat steps 2-4 with the 2nd topic (Verb Tense/Verb Forms)
7)Assign Homework

If you wish to register for another session, you'll need to do so soon because spots fill up quickly. GMATFix has a world map on the registration page so you can see who registered from where. There were students from America, Europe and Asia in yesterday's class. I would also recommend that you get a headset so you can communicate by voice with the rest of the class.

Thanks for the feedback Lula and for sharing these free gmat classes with all of us.

I've registered for Monday's Class 1. There are just 9 spots left so i'm one of the last ones to register. It would be nice if GMATFix had more classes at different times. I just could not afford to pay the $1500 or so for a full course at MGMAT or Princeton so it will be great to have some free professional guidance (www.gmatfix.com/live/live_faq.php)

There you go. I would have posted it earlier if I had seen your message.
GMATFix Live Class 2 – HOMEWORK, due by the beginning of Class 3
GMATFix Official Guide Companion: Speed Drill I, pg 421. Study drill solutions on pgs 442-457
GMATFix Flashcards:
1. Verbs Set (https://www.gmatfix.com/lessons/fc_verbs.shtml ) - Go through the flashcards set, solving each question and reading the attached lesson. Take your time and make sure you understand it all. Repeat the set until you can go through every question easily (without making a mistake). You may have to go through it 4 or 5 times but I know you’ll do what it takes to pull up your score.
2. Idioms Set (https://www.gmatfix.com/lessons/fc_idioms.shtml ) – Same instructions as above. I will assign this set multiple times. Idioms have to be memorized you will have to go through this set multiple times before your GMAT

OG11 Data Sufficiency: 8, 9, 13, 21, 38, 42, 50, 54, 64, 56, 63, 69, 71, 88, 92, 99
OG12 Data Sufficiency: 6, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30, 34, 36, 37, 38, 40, 43, 44, 45, 47, 48, 51, 52, 58, 60, 62, 64, 65, 70, 72, 77, 81, 153, 161, 162, 164, 166, 172, 173
Quant Review Data Sufficiency: 3, 13, 18, 33, 45, 53, 63, 73, 75, 82, 86, 98, 100, 108, 110, 116
Instructions: Get away from distractions and do the questions one at a time.
1. There is no time-limit per question; the objective is to learn how to rephrase and anticipate how the GMAT will use the data given in the prompt & statements.
2. For each question, do the following:
2.1 Rephrase the prompt and statements before you look at the statements
2.2 Starting with the easier statement, rephrase each statement and determine how the data given affects your rephrased question
2.3 Only if necessary, merge the two statements.
3. File each question into one of 3 categories:
3.1 “Got it” – In this category, put all questions that you could solve without any troubles. You don’t think you need any help with these questions
3.2 “Maybe” – In this category, put all questions that you got right but you struggled to get to the answer. You’re not sure whether you could get a similar question correct quickly
3.3 “Need to improve” – All other questions fall here. Questions you got right by luck, questions that took you over 3 mins to solve, and questions that you got wrong.
4. Once you’re done, send me a report of which questions fall in each category (FOR MY TUTORING STUDENTS ONLY).

Zuleron,

what happens when you try to register? I tried to register yesterday for the free class on Inequalities & Absolute Values, and I didn't run into any problems. maybe the page didn't load properly?

I ran into something similar and mailed Patrick (the instructor), and according to him there is a small bug when using some browsers. He asked me to try with internet explorer and when i tried i was able to register without any problem. So try that.
