Hello I've been receiving the 60 day GMAT emails for about 22 days now. Unfortunately, I've been unable to follow forum due to discrepancies. My question is should I continue to try and follow the emails I've been receiving(considering that the discussions that require reading on the website or should I resign up for the 60-day GMAT and start fresh?
Thanks!!!

I think there will be few people who do not have time challenges that cause them to miss days now and then.
If/when that happens, you merely have a 65-day Study Guide (or a 75-day SG etc.)
The SG is basically a checklist to make sure that you don't miss important topics. It also allows you to have a built-in group of people who are all on the same page as you. So, even if you are just tackling the Day 14 material, you still have several other people in the community who are on the same day.
Starting at Day 1 again might not work since it's possible there will be other events that come up in the future that prevent you from completing a certain day.
That's my feeling.
All the best,
Brent

Hi Brent,
This is to you, taking the test on Aug31,2010.I have religiously followed the 60 day guide till today. But I was very disappointed yesterday.I took the Kaplan Premiere live online practice test 1 from the CD.
And I scored a mere 540(38Q,28VA).
In the GMAT prep that I took on June 26 I got 680(46QA,31VA).
Please help.suggest what should I do? Is the Kaplan very tough?Should I follow some other test like MGMAT?
Or is my prep lacking?
In the Kaplan english section I was allmost puzzled with most of the questions.I guess thats because I have not studied English since the last 22days.
Do you suggest doing some additional english every day apart from the study guide?
Regards,
skp

Hi skp,
Don't put too much weight on any single test. Your score can fluctuate considerably from test to test, so I suggest waiting to see how you do on the next test before you get too concerned.
However, if you want to ease your mind, you could try taking GMATPrep Test #1 again and see how you do.
Cheer,
Brent

Hi Brent,
Took the GMAT PRep #1 again.Scored a 690(48QA,37VA).But was rather surprised.I had 17 incorrect answers in QA this time.
Last time I took GMAT Prep #1 on June 26,I had just 10 incorrect answers in QA.But the last QA score was 46.Lower than the one this time.Is it something possible/normal?Englsih score is the same this time as the last time.I had 10 incorrect answers both the time. And got 37 both the times.
OA Score Last time: 680(46QA,37VA)
OA Score this time:690(48 QA,37VA)

Hi skp,
It's really hard to correlect the number of correct answers to your final score.
A few months ago, I decided to write the GMATPrep test #1 several times in order to write the article: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2010/03/ ... iple-times
I answered all of the odd-numbered questions in the quantitative session correctly and all of the even-numbered questions incorrectly.
Now, in the article, I talk about 3 tests that had reasonably similar results. The scaled scores for those three tests were 19, 23 and 26. Percentile-wise, these scores range from about the 7th percentile to the 20th percentile. That's not a huge spread, but it was still bigger than I expected.
However, what I didn't write about was the 4th test. In this test I still answered the questions 1/2 right and 1/2 wrong, but this time my scaled score was 42, which is in the 67th percentile!
So, on tests where every 2nd question was answered correctly, the scaled score ranged from the 7th percentile to the 67th percentile.
As you can see, it's not about how many questions we get correct; it's about which questions we get correct.
Cheeers,
Brent
