I think it was around a year back when I first time come across the Beat The GMAT community and I thought this forum as just one of the thousands forums floating on the internet (mis)guiding students. (Yes, many of the online GMAT forums misguide students, more about this I'll write later in another post) Though, I'm always a shy to write/post on Beat The GMAT forum, I have always read the main articles by various GMAT experts. All the articles written by GMAT experts are really inspiring and helping.
I think, Beat The GMAT is one of the various forum whose popularity is growing at the fastest rate. Continuously forum Beat The GMAT is adding new features like 60 days study plan, which was huge success. Latest among the added features is Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions.
Recently, I got the opportunity to check Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions and here in this post I'll try to write my first impression of Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions.
Features of Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions:
"¢ Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions comes with 700+ questions and with 6 months of access.
"¢ All the questions come with written and video explanation, which one can select to see after every question or at the end of the study session.
"¢ One can select the number of question one wants to attempt at a time. Also one can select the section to practice, such as one can opt for DS, SC etc separately or if one is not sure which section one wants to practice, Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions selects questions.
"¢ All questions are timed; the method that prepares you for the time management and one can also check out relative performance with respect to other people, who are using Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions. Their red and green method to show your relative performance is great.
"¢ Though I have tried only 12 questions (oh! that's why this post is named first impression of Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions) of Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions, I can say almost all the questions are of 700 level questions.
What else can be added to the course:
I would have loved if the course would have added some video explanation of frequently tested concepts on GMAT. I understand the name of the course is Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions, but adding some chapters and video explanation of frequently tested concepts on GMAT would add another feather on the cap on Beat The GMAT forum.
I'll write on Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions in detail after a week, the time I'll attempt more questions. Till then you can check and try free question out Beat The GMAT - Practice Questions from this link https://practice.beatthegmat.com/

Thanks so much for providing your initial impressions! We love feedback and take it very seriously. This product will only get better!
But it's pretty darn good even now if you ask me, but I'm biased.

Ermm, Good job Eric. I've just bought these questions and practiced about 20 odd verbal questions. Here is a list of things i loved
1. They are difficult, specially the RC questions (One of the RC questions i tried was really dense phew!)
2. They are different and not merely a rip off of OG/1000 series problems.
3. CR questions are very well framed. Very representative of GMAT.
4. I am all out of OG material and this material comes across as a decent substitute for OG (so far)
Here is a list of things i would love to change about these questions.
1. For RC questions the reading area should be larger. Further, there should markers for line numbers.
.
I'll keep adding/deleting from this list as i go along..

Another flaw is that i cannot create a study session with 41 V/ 37 Q questions. If that were possible, I'd be able to simulate a complete practice test at one go.

Yes, being able to do 41, and 37 in one go would be great.
Also, I'd like to review my answers mistakes/answers by practice session, so that I can track my improvement over time.
Currently, I only see an option to track the last session, or the last day. But it would be best to be able to track "Practice Session 1, Practice Session 2, etc.)
Thanks,

I thought that by having a bench mark of your own score against what others are getting is good.
however I am rather curious on the percentage of correct answers people who scored over 700 in the actual gmat get when they are using "Beat the GMAT - Practice Questions". I know that the questions are ranged according to difficulties, but I find the level of difficulties rather similar even though some are stated as below 400 level. I find the questions really tough, especially RC, and its by far my weakest section. grrrr....
So perhaps with a range to benchmark percentage right against actual test score might help users see where they stand.

Bought the beatthegmat practice question. Everything looks fine..but got confused on the difficulty part..As a guy who has completed the OG 12 twice(sc questions) - I feel the difficulty level is higher than what is told so in the practice questions.
Do anyone agree?
