Can somebody please respond with the answer with explanation for following SC?
I can't figure it out:

32. A study commissioned by the Department of Agriculture showed that if calves exercise and associated with other calves, they will require less medication and gain weight quicker than do those raised in confinement.
(A) associated with other calves, they will require less medication and gain weight quicker than do
(B) associated with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight quicker than
(C) associate with other calves, they required less medication and will gain weight quicker than do
(D) associate with other calves, they have required less medication and will gain weight more quickly than do
(E) associate with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight more quickly than

hey

I got my GMAT exam in 4 hours!!

ANyway, since we have "exercise(present tense)", we need to have "associate". c/d/e.

From here, you need to know this

From here, "IF PRESENT" -> WIll xxx or PRESENT.

Eliminate c/d

E wins!!

We live in a world in which crime is rampant, children are recalcitrant, change is the only constant, and uncertainty prevails.

(A) children are recalcitrant, change is the only constant, and uncertainty prevails.
(B) children are recalcitrant, change is the only constant, and uncertainty is prevalent.
(C) in which children are recalcitrant, in which change is the only constant, and in which uncertainty is prevalent.
(D) where children are recalcitrant, where change is the only constant and where uncertainty is prevalent.
(E) where children are recalcitrant, change is the only constant, and uncertainty is prevalent

What is the answer for this one?
Purposefully not mentioning the answer so that anybody doesn't provide justifications based on the answer already known.

(A) associated with other calves, they will require less medication and gain weight quicker than do
loss of parallelism, exercise and associate

(B) associated with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight quicker than
loss of parallelism, exercise and associate

(C) associate with other calves, they required less medication and will gain weight quicker than do
correct parallelism between exercise and associate, showed and required

(D) associate with other calves, they have required less medication and will gain weight more quickly than do
more quickly is incorrect, quicker is correct

(E) associate with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight more quickly than
more quickly is incorrect, quicker is correct

Hence, C

I get that the answer is E, but I wanted clarity on a certain aspect of the parallelism. In choice E, calves exercise and associate ......... has to be made parallel to those raised ........
The question I have is - can parallelism be across tenses? exercise and associate - simple present; raised - simple past. I think we can ........ Any thougts?

Thanks

more quickly is incorrect, quicker is correct

(E) associate with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight more quickly than
more quickly is incorrect, quicker is correct

Hence, C

Quicker, in your explanation, is in fact incorrect because you cannot modify a verb phrase "gain weight" with an adjective "quicker"; An adverb is required to modify a verb phrase such as "quickly"

(A) Phrase "exercise and associated" are wrong tense combination
(B) Phrase "exercise and associated" are wrong tense combination
(C) The phrase "They required" used wrongly as past tense in combination with the future tense with phrase "will gain"
(D) The phrase "have required and will gain" wrong tense combination
(E) perfect tensing; correct answer. Hence (e).
