Daniel loses big time

by kanha81 » Fri Sep 11, 2009 1:32 pm
Daniel wins 25 percent of the first eight card games that he plays. If he loses all of the remaining
card games that he plays, what was the total number of games that Daniel lost?

(1) Daniel played 20 card games.
(2) Daniel lost 90 percent of the card games that he played.

W L X(remaining number of games played)
2 6 X

X=12 so 1 is sufficient. Daniel lost 18 games.

for 2)
(6+X)/(8+x)=.9

We can solve for X and answer the question so also sufficient.

Choose D.
