i agree that parallelism in C is inferior to the parallelism exhibited in E..but isn't it wrong that 'this predator' refers to 'wolves' which is plural? Please explain if i am wrong

'this' is not used a pronoun here. 'this' is used as an adjective. So, it is fine. If you still have doubt, you can refer to Ron's post:
