How does a career goal like the one below sound to admissions consultants here?

"My short term objective is to help financial and healthcare businesses achieve established security, privacy and compliance guidelines. I will provide them with advice critical to increasing trust in their business processes and solutions through technology consulting."
"My longer term objectives are to step into business of Healthcare as business consultant with the help of my short term technology consulting experiences in the same."

goddy,

It sounds good because (a) it's not generic sounding, (b) risk management is a 'hot' area, and (c) hopefully it aligns in some way with your work experience (i.e., you can explain credibly where it comes from).

hi goddy,
without knowing anything else about your background, i think your career goals are good b/c they are specific and time bound. they also have credibility and feel realistic. my only advice is to perhaps think about a grander ambition and to frame your career goals as something more larger in scale. i wrote this article about career goals that might be helpful to you: https://www.thefirstread.com/how-a-discu ... plication/

best of luck,

Goddy,

I am just reacting to the limited information provided, but I actually think that you have a problem in that there is no bridge between two very different types of consulting. If you are currently working in technology, perhaps a better goal after your MBA is to start that transition into more general strategy consulting.

Get in touch with me offline if you want to discuss more.
