Hi everyone,
I'm having a bit difficulty.
I was very prepared last week when I took my GMAT. Unfortunately, I did well on the first two parts then I have no idea what happened and I bombed the Verbal and walked out feeling like I was "punked" by my score.
I sat for the exam back in August and also did not do well but this time around, I actually scored 50 points worse.
Did I just ruin my chances of getting into B-school overall?
Bombed Gmat

Not sure what your score is, but most likely you didn't ruin your chances of getting into business school. Remember, most business schools will only consider your highest score in your admissions.
Are you suffering from nerves while taking the test? I sense a disconnect in terms of your performance in practice vs the real test.
All the best,
Eric

I agree with Eric. It may just be a matter of recollecting yourself before u do the Verbal and going in with a positive frame of mind and maintianing it throughout. It's always easier said than done but when I took my GMAT I felt I could have done better at Quant. As soon as I finished quant I told myself to forget what happenned with Quant and go in and kill the Verbal section. I ended up scoring a higher percentile with decent prep and a positive farme of mind when doing verbal. How's ur SC section score? We can gain a lot of time for the CR's and RC'S once we solve sc questions on a consistent basis in a minute to minute and a half. If u can provide us with what exactly happenned in the Verbal section we might be able to provide additional pointers.
Good luck!

CR

Thanks for the response. I think that's what happened. I was scoring very well on RC and CR so I focused only on SC. When it came to the real test, I just didn't put the 3 pieces together. Any suggestions for SC?
