Option A: Incorrect
This statement is assertive. In which the passage didn't assert the equivalent of the numbers. It doesn't coincide with the option of the writer.

Option B:Incorrect
This statement is also assertive and the use of the definite article makes it controversial and inconsistent with the writer's position.

Option C:Incorrect
The statement states that the two statements are numerically equal which contradicts the passage statement which seeks to strengthen the writer's opinion.

Option D: Incorrect
The statement is grammatically faulty and inconsistent with the original statement which does seek to be assertive.

Option E: Correct
The statement doesn't compare the numeric assertively, rather it makes an estimate of it. It seen but it's lacking in strength.
