Beaten by GMAT 620

by cartera » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:03 am
I took the GMAT this morning and got 620 (M47 V28)

I fact, I don't know why I got a so low score. I was expecting around 660 - 680. I started to prepare in mid November and took Gprep twice, both time in November.

Gprep 1 640 Mid November
Gprep 2 670 End of November
Power Prep 1 650 Mid December
Gprep 1 (Again) 740 February (Many repeated questions)

Didnt have any problem with the timing and finished all questions on time. I have taken around 10 exams from SETs and was failing around 8 - 10 questions per exam.

In fact, yesterday, the day before Gday, I did 40 SC questions from Gprep cracked version and only failed 6 questions.

Any advice to improve my score?

Thanks

it's not such a bad score, and you will probably do better next time.
i would concentrate on verbal, as it is obviously this part of the test that is dragging you down.
have you looked through all the resources you can find on this forum, for example? loads of good materials!

620 is not a bad score. I say it's good for your first try. You just have to focus on the verbal part. I have the book "Verbal workout for the GMAT" by PR which has been a great help. My suggestion is to get a good verbal strategy book. I'm sure you'll be flying high net time!!
