Hi all -
Just wanted to hear any thoughts/ experiences on variation of verbal scores. I've been in the 39-41 range ,and most recently ended up with a 36 on gmatprep verbal, even though I only missed 8 questions.
the culprit? 5 out of the 8 were RCs. Sometimes I just miss the"little detail" that makes an answer incorrect.... Especially on science passages.
How is it that missing 8 questions, the fewest I've ever missed and I end up with the lowest score? How do I strategize to balance things out?

There is lot more in the algorithm than just no. of right and wrong answers. Consecutive no. of wrong answers may harm your percentile. OR answering easy-medium questions incorrectly can harm in another way. There are lots more in this algorithm.
What we as a test-taker can just focus is trying to make minimal mistakes in the test. Don't stress too much on analyzing how scoring works.
