ASKING FOR ADVICE

by mehrasa » Wed Sep 14, 2011 7:52 pm
i am going to take the test early on Dec.. I MADE A STUDY PLAN THAT SPEND 1 MONTH FOR MATH, 1 MONTH VERBAL AND THE 3RD MONTH REVIEWING ALL MATERIAL... NOW AFTER SPENDING THREE WEEKS ON MATH, I REALIZED THAT THIS PLAN MAY NOT WORK WELL, SINCE WHEN I START SPENDING 1 MONTH ON VERBAL, I PROBABLY FORGET SOME POINTS IN MAth section...I AM WONDERING WHETHER I NEED TO CHANGE MY STUDY PLAN A BIT OR NOT.. APPRECIATE ANY GUIDE OR PAST EXPERIENCE THAT U THINK HELP ME

i WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT I STUDIED OG12, SOME DS Qs FROM OG QUANTITATIVE REVIEW, 3 GUIDES OF MANHATTAN ADVANCED GUIDE AND ALWAYS PRACTICE FORUM Qs.. I TOOK TWO GMAT PREP TESTS AND I GOT 46 AND 47 ON MATH SECTION (BUT I THINK STILL NEED TO IMPROVE...
I THINK MAYBE IT IS GOOD TO START VERBAL FOR 2 WEEKS, AGAIN 1 WEEK ON MATH AND AGAIN 2 WEEK ON VERBAL OR ANOTHER PLAN.. PLEASE HELP ME... LSO PLEASE TELL ME WHICH REFERENCES IS GOOD TO WORK ON FOR VERBAL SECTION SINCE I,M NOT NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER

My recommendation would be to study both simultaneously. Maybe to break it up, alternate days between verbal and math. When you're studying, do not just cover a topic and then move on from that topic. Every few days, go back and do problems from topics that you have already covered. For example, if you finish going through a chapter on ratios. After you finish another chapter covering a different math topic, go back and do some ratio problems to keep the content fresh in your mind. Once you add another chapter, go back and review the previous two chapters that you have finished. Do this all the way up until the test. This will ensure that the information remains fresh.
