First, adcoms will only count work experience *after* college. No matter how you spin it (and you're not the only one in the history of b-school admissions who tried really hard to spin the fact that their jobs during school should count as full-time experience), you will be seen as having one year of post-college experience thus far.

Secondly, I strongly suggest you work for at least 1 more year, and ideally 2-3 more years before applying. You have the beginnings of a solid career, but you are still better off building more experience now before going back to school.

And finally, if you really are stubborn enough that you feel you still want to apply this year, then apply in R2 (Jan deadlines). Retake the GMAT. You're not getting into any of those schools with the profile you have coupled with that GMAT score. If you want a shot at any of those schools, you need at least a 700, and ideally a 720 (or 740+). Also, you may want to focus on schools like Ross, Duke, Darden, UCLA, Cornell, Yale, NYU, Oxford and Cambridge (assuming a very strong GMAT score) if you can't wait and want to apply this year. The top 8 schools even with a strong GMAT are likely out of reach: you have a solid profile and the start to a good career, but again with little experience and what experience you have isn't particularly extraordinary compared to the kinds of people you're competing against (i.e. blue chip candidates at global firms, and/or who have done some extraordinary things), you're going to have a tough time competing.

I'm gonna disagree with Alex here on the work experience. Your work experience seems to have been fully professional and under not entirely normal circumstances, and I think you can make a very convincing argument for it to be considered as fullt0ime experience. We have worked with clients from other countries in which its quite normal for students to work real full-time jobs while studying, and actually the best thing to do is to EXPLAIN to them.

Other than that, it would definitely be wise for you to retake the GMAT, and apply only if you get a 720 or higher. Since you are aiming for the top schools in the world, you need the top scores in the world :)

Hello, Jon,

Thank you so much for your feedback!

I don't mind taking GMAT again and I believe that I'll manage to get 700+. My scores for GMATPrep tests had been 760 and 740 before I took the test, so my poor results might have been caused by the fact that I was stressed and didn't manage the time properly.
But what I'm worrying about is that I might not have enough time to prepare the essays, LOR, etc. if I decide to go for GMAT again. The preparation should take me around 2 months, as I'm not acquainted with integrated reasoning part at all.

So according to your experience, if I start writing my essays in August, will I manage to polish them by October?

BTW, I do consider asking for help from some consulting company. In case of Precision Essay, are 2 months enough to prepare the packs for 7-8 schools?

Many thanks in advance!
