We can let each floor worker’s wage be $60 and the manager’s wage be x dollars. We can create the equation:
x = 1/7 * (60 * 8 + x)
7x = 480 + x
6x = 480
x = 80
Therefore, the manager’s wage is 80/60 = 4/3 times as much as a floor worker’s wage.
