700 GMAT with low IR

by crackinggmat » Mon Oct 15, 2012 6:46 pm
Hi

I am a 35 yrs Indian IT guy with 12 years of experience in technical and management together. I recently took my first GMAT and scored decent in all sections except IR.

Quant: 50, Verbal: 33, AWA:5, Total:700. But surprisingly I just got 1 on IR, must have done something terribly wrong.

I am planning to apply for part-time MBA program at Booth or Kellogg. Should I plan to take GMAT again or should I go ahead and apply with my current scores? Will low IR score hurt my chances of admission?

Thanks in Advance.

low IR should not hurt and you should go ahead and apply with your 700. The part time programs you will find are much more lenient on overall profile and yours is strong, so you should have a favorable experience.

Hi,

I have a score of 710 on the GMAT but again expecting a very low IR score.
But I want to apply for full time MBA progs like Duke Fuqua ,CMU Tepper, Emory, Rottman, NUS.

1) Are the above programs considering the score this year ?

Plz suggest how to defend my IR score.
