Just back from the Testcenter

by Jack-L » Fri Mar 13, 2009 8:29 am
Hi guys

I just finished the exam and got a score of 610 (Q43, V31). I needed 650 for the program I wanted to apply for. So I just scheduled a new exam day on the 22nd of April.

What should I say? It is a kind of disappoint since I needed the 650 and I know that I can beat that score. But actually I studied for 3 weeks and didn't really take this issue seriously as most of the users here did. I guess I can't blame anyone but me.

I'll try to do better and I certainly will. There's 5 weeks to go, I need a little break and than I guess I'll put every effort to score higher.

I guess even today I could have made the 650, the verbal questions seemed harder than the ones in the GMATPrep. The Quant section was the same actually. I was confused not the get any combination or probability question (maybe because I never got into the hard questions).
I can't even remember the SET Problems.

The Verbal Section was not bad, I had 3 questions with lines that were bold. And some Questions with gaps that required me to fill in a best fitting answer. (I guess they are the middle-hard ones?) But non of my SC Questions were underlined completely...

Still, I must admit that the GMATPrep is the best preparatory material, although some questions are harder.

I was very nervous in the beginning, but the AWA took the nervosity away. Although I didn't really perform well there, it was good to start with something that you can think about and use the time. I don't even needed the whole breaks, maybe that was one of the problems. I was very relaxed maybe too relaxed so that I didn't really concentrate on the question stems...

I know that there's not a big difference between 610 / 650 as it always gets harder to score better, but I must pass the exam with 650. Otherwise I won't be able to persue the Master of Arts that I want to this Fall.

I'll keep you updated...

Hope to get it done by the 22nd of April

Good job on the score. With a little charging up, I'm sure you can get any score you want. Good luck!

I didn't realize GMAT had these type of questions. Were they SC questions?

I thought it was more of a CR because all the senrences didn't seem to have mistakes.
