2 Days Left - Last minute advice?

by pissantvache » Wed Mar 19, 2008 9:13 am
Hi All,

I'm taking the Gmat this Friday. I took an MGMAT course which finished about 2.5 weeks ago, and after a break in study (not ideal, I know, but I was busy), I have been taking a CAT every day.

My results so far:
1-13-08 - MGMAT CAT 1 - 720 (47Q, 41V)
2-05-08 - MGMAT CAT 2 - 720 (47Q, 41V)
3-15-08 - MGMAT CAT 3 - 710 (48Q, 39V)
3-16-08 - GMATPrep I - 740 (48Q, 44V (I think))
3-17-08 - MGMAT CAT 4 - 750 (48Q, 45V)
3-18-08 - MGMAT CAT 5 - 740 (47Q, 45V)

My plan was to take the last MGMAT Cat today, the last GMAT prep tomorrow, and to finish off the PS and DS sections in OG quant. My timing has been fairly consistent with these tests, except for two things: I'm usually a little bit slow on the MGMAT Quants (finishing with <1 minute left), but when I took the GMATPrep, I found that most of the last questions were unbelievably easy and I finished the quant section with about 14 minutes left. I generally finish the verbal sections with 1-4 minutes left.

Also, on the quant specifically, I find that especially with MGMAT, many of my mistakes are basically stupid, that could have been solved with just a few extra seconds taken looking at the question (or, alternatively, that are simple calculation errors).

Any suggestions?

With the scores you're seeing on MGMAT and GMATPrep, you should not have any problems on the real exam. Just relax and take it easy the day before the exam and bring a light snack and DO NOT drink copious amounts of water before or during the exam. Whatever you've been doing has been working so good luck!

With the consistently high scores you're getting on the practice tests I think the only thing that can prevent you from beating the GMAT is your nerves. So stay calm, relax. Get a good night's sleep the day before the test and you should be fine.
