Take a look at the last sentence of the passage: Finally, socialist feminists and most bourgeois feminists concurred in subordinating women's emancipation to what they considered the more important goal of liberating the entire Russian population from political oppression, economic backwardness, and social injustice.eitijan wrote:Why option C is wrong?
It isn't saying that bourgeois feminists believed that the emancipation of women would lead to the liberation of the entire population. It's saying that they subordinated women's emancipation to the goal of liberating the whole population from political oppression, economic backwardness, and social injustice.
If socialist feminists and most bourgeois feminists subordinated women's emancipation to the goal of liberating the whole population from political oppression, economic backwardness, and social injustice then they must have believed in it.
Please bridge the gap.
Nowhere in the passage I could find support for option B. Couls you please elaborate on this?

To subordinate means to put less emphasis on, or to relegate to a lesser priority.eitijan wrote:If socialist feminists and most bourgeois feminists subordinated women's emancipation to the goal of liberating the whole population from political oppression, economic backwardness, and social injustice then they must have believed in it.

Finally, socialist feminists and most bourgeois feminists concurred in subordinating women's emancipation to what they considered the more important goal of liberating the entire Russian population from political oppression, economic backwardness, and social injustice.
Boiled way down this sentence is communicating that both types of feminists held women's emancipation as a lower priority than the goal of liberating the entire Russian population from political oppression, etc.
Answer choice B: The achievement of larger political aims should take precedence over the achievement of women's rights.
Larger political aims = liberating the entire Russian population from political oppression, etc.
Achievement of women's rights = women's emancipation.
Asserting that larger political aims take precedence over the achievement of women's rights is the same as asserting that the achievement of women's rights (women's emancipation) should be subordinate to the goal of larger political aims (liberation of the entire population from political oppression, etc.)
