Topic: Which GMAT prep company to go with...

I'm on the fence about which prep course to sign up for; either Princeton Review's or the GMAT prep course offered by Belmont University in Nashville. Any information from either would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you have checked out VeritasPrep yet, but all their instructors have passed a rigorous evaluation for skills of personal instruction and all have achieved 99th percentile on a real GMAT test themselves. I actually work on the consulting side of Veritas but personally know some of their instructors and have been very impressed. They also will let you retake the course if you are not happy with your score. www.veritasprep.com

If it's a choice just between The Princeton Review and the GMAT course offered at your local university--I would recommend The Princeton Review. Some universities have decent GMAT prep services, but I've seen too many crappy ones to feel good about recommending them. Better to stick with a national brand.

Good luck and please let us know what you decide!

Thanks for the advice. I did some research on the local university Instructor and 15 years of teaching the GMAT Strategy Course to over 1500 students sounded like a winner. Like everyone else I just want to get my moneys worth as well as have the light bulb moments on my weak areas of the GMAT. I've been averaging 4 hours a day (1 hour during my lunch break and 3 hours at night(930pm-1230pm)since mid-October. I plan to take the GMAT before March 1st. So far I've printed out about 200 sheets of Beat the GMAT material to include flash-cards (I'm starting to get funny looks every time I visit the company printer.) I need to get a 700 and above. The schools I would like to attend (in preference order) 1. Vanderbilt, UT at Austin, Hardvard, Belmont, Yale, and St. Marys. If it wasn't for this website my study plan would be like a dog looking at a ceiling fan. Eric thanks for creating this website and thanks to the rest of the community for making this a team effort. Like everyone else I just don't want to put in 5 months worth of studying to end up with a dismal score on test day. Well here's a little about me since I'm expressing my fears. I'm currently pilot who gave up a senior promotion and extra dinero to pursue a differnt goal. I'm giving up a very comfortable lifestyle just to know that I can do something else. My friends call me crazy for changing careers right when I'm at my best. I don't know what it is. Don't get me wrong, I love flying, but I guees I need a new challenge in my life. If I get a 700 and above; fish tacos will be on me.

Thanks again for all the help
