1) His rent was raised $45.
We only know that Rent now - Rent before = $45. There is no inforamtion about Rent before. Insufficient.
2) He now pays $315 per month.
We only know that Rent now = $45. There is no inforamtion about Rent before. Insufficient.
(1) and (2) together
The percentage increase of the rent = (Rent now - Rent before) / Rent before = [45 / (315 - 45)]*100% = [45 / 270]*100% = 16.67%. Sufficient
The correct answer: C
Hope this helps!
