Im citing the movie Wall Street as an influence for choosing a career in finance.

In current times, would mentioning the movie of Greed is good hurt my candidacy????

thanks! Very Happy

Are you sure you want to base your essay out of a movie? Quoting some lines that influence you is fine.

However, you will come out much stronger if you discuss or quote the past historical official events or the latest scandals recently (if you have been watching news lately).

Documentaries are considered much credible source of information. Stick to being realistic, a fictional movie may not hold much ground in finance.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck.
