Economist.: Nowadays technology changes so rapidly that workers need periodic retraining. This training can prove beneficial to the individual companies only if it helps them to meet their desired short terms goals. Evidently , in an effort to retrain workers efficiently , large government job training programs are no longer a viable option.
What is the assumption required by the economist’s argument?
A) Workers need to be retrained seeing the pace of the technological advancement in recent years.
B) Short –term needs of different individual companies are not met by the large governmental job training programs.
C) Trained workers meet the companies short term goals efficiently
D) Large training programs mean that all trained workers will work efficiently and hence meet the company goals.
E) Government should facilitate frequent training programs to meet the ever changing technological changes.

i choose B. this answer connects the point made in sentence 2 that training should help companies meet short-term goals, and sentence 3 that large government training jobs don't provide for short-term goals. what's the OA? |

I chose B.
Indivisual companies want to achieve their short-term goals by retraining their employees efficiently, however, the economist here concludes that the large government job training programs are no longer a viable option.
I think that the assumption lies in this argument is that government's program does no good to meet companies short-term goals.
Anyway, what's the OA? |
