Great post, bblast.

If it helps anyone out there, I created a series of free videos (at http://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gmat-reading-comprehension) that cover all of the important strategies/tips for RC.

Cheers,
Brent
Hi Brent , does this video use a gmatprep rc to illustrate the strategies
Yes, it uses official (retired) OG questions/passages from the GMAT mini-test.

Cheers,
Brent

Hi Brent i still have the gmat prep tests left so i would nt want to see any rcs that would spoil my gmat prep rc experience later.
so i would like to clarify about the gmat mini test . Never heard of this mini test
You mean the gmac paper tests or the small rc section that comes with the gmat prep

The "mini test" is a set of GMAT questions that GMAC put out give people examples of GMAT questions. There are only 5 examples each question type, so it's not a large volume of questions.
Educators are allowed to use these questions without having to worry about copyright issues.

Don't worry, it is VERY unlikely (perhaps even impossible) that the passages I discuss in the RC videos will appear on your GMATPrep practice tests.

Cheers,
Brent

@bblast

Congrats!!

I checked the wenku baidu link for RC passages, but I don't see any answers/explanations for the same. Is there another link for them?

Thanks

Nopes, u can try searching online- u will get a few Gmatprep passages discussed at MGMAT forums, alternatively u can post ur questions on BTG or MGMAT- on the RC forum , u'll get a nice discussion going.

an important takeaway from how bb does RC and my experience - we sound alike, and i quote his text

These are very close to the real GMAT. cause they are passages from GMATPrep, use only after exhausting prep material

I have a question regarding the time keeping strategy. While I know the importance of limiting answering RC's within a certain amount of time, I find I lose the ability to read through the passage when I feel I'm pressed for time i.e. 10 min left for 10 questions. The more I am aware of the time, the less I comprehend from the passage as all I am aware of is that the clock is ticking.
Might anyone have a view on how to conquer this weakness? Would appreciate your views!
thanks in advance
