Top 10 schools

by rushabhgala » Sat Sep 03, 2011 10:46 am
Hi,

I have done my undergraduation in technology from India and worked in software industry in a leadership role for 2 years. Post that, I did my masters in Business from one of the top 10 B-schools in India and I interned with KPMG during that period. Since I always had the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills built in my genes, I started a Wealth management firm in 2009. Its been more than 2 years now and we have now diversified into areas of fund raising, investment banking and Angel funding. Our team has grown and I have led the organisation to be one of the most promising young organisation in this sector in India. I am one of the first few and the youngest guy to start a small angel / incubator fund for startups and have invested in more than 10 start ups already.

At this juncture I am keen on doing my my MBA from the top 10 b-schools in the US and take this sabbatical to get a global exposure as that is where i see a gap right now. Only hitch is that I already have done my masters in business earlier - which I do not regret at all but all that it lacks is global exposure and that is the gap which I feel the need to plug at this juncture.

Let me know if you think I can make it there and which places should I target assuming I get a good GMAT score and am able to bank on my successful entrepreneurial venture.

Thanks,
Rushabh

Looks like you have a good profile. This kind of "top of your class" profile which you seem to have is one of the most helpful things you can have in your application. Applying for an MBA when you already have one can be a bit tricky, some schools won;t even let you apply (Duke for instance), but we have had clients apply for a second MBA and get accepted. The trick is to lean very heavily on WHY you MUST have this second MBA even though you already have one, and convince them you NEED it.

Hope this helps!
