Overwhelmed- figuring out to apply

by alexdallas » Tue Nov 17, 2009 7:52 pm
Hey everyone!

this is me:
-27 ys old, canadian/Us citizen
- 5 years work experience- 2 ys as manager
-2.9 GPA
- GMAT 610

I am overwhelmed currently, do not know where to apply.
I am interested in an International Business MBA.

I have many schools that i'm interested in: NYU, McGill, Concordia, Toronto Uni, York Uni, and 5-6 others.

What is the ideal number of schools to apply to? It seems that every time i read a new article, i find 2-3 more schools that i add to my list. Am getting torn between researching each school one by one, or just starting to apply, and applying to all of them.

Anyone else in my situation, or anyone has any advice?

Just to address one part of your question, I recommend limiting your apps to just four schools. Having gone through the app process myself, I think that applying to more than four risks spreading yourself too thin in terms of attention for each school.

You're going to have to do some heavy handed research on each program to understand where you will have the best fit. Fortunately, our community is here to help. :)

Good luck!
