Q1: perimeters are equal

a is side of square
2r and 3r are sides of rectangle (since the ration is 2:3)

4a = 2(2r + 3r)

a = 10r/4

ratio of areas = (2r X 3r) / (10r/4 X 10r/4)

= 24/25

answer is B

Q2:

statement 1: gives no info on total no of people or no of people in any section.

therefore A is ruled out and so is D

statement 2: gives no info on ratio of mens.

therefore B is ruled out

combining both together:

w:c = 5:2
c:m = 5:11

w:c:m = 25:10:22
w:m = 25:22

m = (22/25) X w

since w<30

only w = 25 would make an integer. And it has to be integer because these are integral quantity.

The answer is C.
