Each bank in the town of La Rinconada has only a single set of locking doors at its entrance. In the town of Inverness, on the other hand, the entrances to nearly all banks are equipped with two sets of locking doors, operated by a mechanism that allows only one set of doors to be open at a time. It is clear, then, that banks in Inverness experience more robbery attempts than do those in La Rinconada, and have thus adopted the extra doors as a security measure.

Which of the following, if true, most weakens the argument above?

(A) Last year the number of bank robberies in La Rinconada was almost one-half greater than the corresponding figure for the previous year.
(B) Inverness is known for its harsh winters, while the climate of La Rinconada is quite temperate year-round.
(C) The mechanism of the double doors used by banks in Inverness allows bank security personnel to lock the doors remotely.
(D) Bank robbery attempts are typically unsuccessful, and, even when the robbers do manage to escape with stolen money, the sum is usually quite small.
(E) Inverness has almost twice as many police officers per capita as does La Rinconada.

Option A - INCORRECT
This statement seeks to explain why it may not be entirely true to assert that using a single set of security doors would mean outright decline in cases of robberies. This is a position of strength to the write-up

Option B - CORRECT
Climatic conditions could mean that more people would scamper to enter the hall more often which would mean allowing people through all doors available in the case of inverness which is a positive to them. Also, it is a positive to Rinconada who experience temperate weather all year round and have only one locking door. It means less customers rush and sequential entry arrangement might be why they only have a door. It's thus the point that has weakened the original argument so far.

Option C - INCORRECT
However, it is true but still prone to more armed robbery "attempts" than there exist in Rinconada. Hence, has little or no observable effect.

Option D - INCORRECT
Sad but true, and because there must be a way to prevent any such attempt and True because with the rigorous security door systems and scanning of entrants, the allowable entrance is but one while the remaining is used for "extra doors" as said in the passage. Thus, makes it difficult for armed robbery operations.

Option E - INCORRECT
With such security measures, it would be extra difficult for thieves to breach the banks in Inverness. With more population and traffic in the banking hall, there's definitely the need for double locking doors as against what's obtain in the "town" of Rinconada. It is a point of strength to the author's view point.
