I have a doubt regarding the official explanation given for this problem. You can see both the question and the explanation in the picture.

The whole explanation as you can see rests upon the fact that angle DAB measures x degrees.

My question is - How have they assumed that angle DAB = x degrees?

It's a misprint: the figure is supposed to indicate that DAB = x degrees.
