MBA Exchange Programs

by Whartongal2013 » Thu Nov 07, 2013 9:24 pm
Hi all - I'm currently on exchange through Wharton at the Indian School of Business. I know it was confusing for me to navigate through the whole exchange process and would be happy to provide any insights/answer any questions if anyone out there is interested!

--------------------

As a preliminary way into learning about the Indian School of Business, I got some good insights here: https://www.mbastudents.tk/#!isb/c1ffm but there were still a lot of unanswered questions that I only figured out once I got here. The experience has been great so far and I would recommend exchange to all of you out there!

This reminded me of S P Jain School of Global Management's Advance student admission program which takes scholarships to a whole new level. ASAP is a program in which students get a seat in Masters in Global business and also get a chance to visit Singapore. This program gives a lot of exposure.

Other than our college (NIIT Patna) they have been selecting students from various other colleges such as BITS, IIT, and NMIMS etc.

I still struggle why people want to do exchange programs when in business schools. To be honest, I think it makes a lot more sense in undergrad when you have more time in school. If you spend a semester away during business school, that's 25% of your entire program. Making it that much harder to build your network, search for jobs or just enjoy time with friend. If you really want to go abroad, maybe take vacation before your full time job starts?
